Uplift International makes frequent and comprehensive
assessment trips to Indonesia to determine the exact medical needs of each recipient
hospital and to identify and find the supplies and medicines required. Uplift also
checks on the status of the donated supplies at recipient institutions on a regular basis.
The donated medical supplies and medicines are specifically
requested by the hospitals. A complete list of donated items are carefully coordinated
with the recipient hospitals and submitted to the Indonesian Ministry of Health for final
approval. The World Health Organization supported UPLIFT International to bring the
shipment into Indonesia free of all duties. The shipments are pre-cleared by the
Indonesian Customs authorities.
Garuda Indonesia and Merpati Airlines fly the shipment to
the three cities beyond Jakarta at no charge.
